Readers of the BU understand this isn't about perfection, but rather speed in the AM. There are going to be some mistakes that we will do our best to reduce. However, this newsletter is written daily from 6-8AM with the freshest of news and ideas. We err on the side of speed to get it out as fast as possible due to market movements. We will try to refocus on the language/grammar aspect to improve the quality of the reading as well as the ideas. Thanks for the suggestions!

I respect a lot of academic work, but Prof. White sounds like he's clueless. He wrote: "This (article) suggests that most homeowners choose not to strategically default as a result of two emotional forces: 1) the desire to avoid the shame and guilt of foreclosure; and 2) exaggerated anxiety over foreclosure’s perceived consequences." "

Does he have some data on this? How about some other reasons: 1- People stay in their house because they like the house and their community, and don't want the hassle of moving. 2- People have little confidence in predictions of future home value by themselves or others, and therefore believe value could go back up just as fast as it came down. I.E., they're in it for the longer haul.

Hi,
Thank you for the informative article. However, is anybody proofing your spelling, grammar, etc. before the articles go on-line? There are several mistakes which make reading difficult and the article thus comes off as unprofessional. I hope you take this in the right spirit. I just proofed a 2-page letter from a big law firm our company is using back East, and there were several mistakes which a person with proper English skills and education would have caught. It is maddening to pay thousands to 'professionals' who cannot spell, punctuate properly, choose correct prepositions or identify run-on sentences. I find it disparaging in today's e-world to find such poor English everywhere. I am hoping this will encourage CNBC and you to take a closer look at your product.
